the administration's consolidation of power. joining me now from connecticut is john larson. thank you so much for joining me, sir. let me get your initial reaction to what you heard from the president. is it what you were hoping for? >> absolutely. i was fortunate to fly up from the president from d.c. to newtown when he gave his address. i can you to his marrow he was impacted by this and said it was the worst day of his presidency and he was resolved to do something about it and he has. i think the nation is behind this president and it is different now. i think the road ahead may be difficult, legislators shouldn't be afraid to stand in the way. the teachers weren't afraid to stand in the way of that massacre. that principal was not afraid to stand in the way. we have to get behind the president. nothing he is proposing, he is not taking guns away. everything he is proposing is common sense and practical and comprehensive and including mental health and school safety provisions. the second amendment that everybody abides by and believes in, it calls for a well-regulated militia
